More than a Motto: The Meaning Behind Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing Signature.
In May of 2015, the More than a Motto project kicked off with an inaugural campus conference. Over 300 attendees learned from faculty, staff, and students about some of the amazing Learn by Doing activities taking place a daily basis across campus.
Over the next two years I worked with three other Cal Poly colleagues: Brian Greenwood, Ph.D (Professor, EIM), Dawn Janke, Ed.D (Director, University Writing and Rhetoric Center) and Keri Schwab, Ph.D (Professor, EIM) and a team of students to produce this hard cover display book featuring 22 case studies from across campus that exemplify Learn by Doing in action.
The book was printed at University Graphic Systems, the student-run campus printing company, and released in May 2017. It is available for purchase at Cal Poly University Store and Cal Poly Downtown.

I oversaw the printing and production of the book. The binding and finishing was done at Unique Services Group located in Pacoima, California.
Each of the vellum divider sheets for each chapter were tipped-in by hand.
